DUB DENMAN CANOE TRAIL

The Dub Denman Canoe Trail is located on the Tallapoosa River. At approximately 27 miles long in Haralson County, Georgia, the trail connects to the Alabama Canoe Trail. There are three launch sites along the Tallapoosa River: Poplar Springs, Georgia Hwy 100, and Broad Street in Tallapoosa, Georgia. Enjoy this beautiful, quiet, and one of the cleanest rivers in the West Georgia area.

Launch Site: Poplar Springs

This launch site is located off of Poplar Springs Road in Tallapoosa, GA. The average float time between Poplar Springs and GA Highway 100 is 2 to 3 hours.

The Tallapoosa River is the main source of water for the citizens of Haralson County.  There is a small obstruction located downstream from this launch at the Highway 100 bridge, but there is a portage around for safe paddling.   As you travel south approaching the obstruction please stay to the left side of the river for the portage.      Poplar Springs to Hwy 100 Map

From downtown Tallapoosa, go north on Highway 100, through town approximately 5 miles to Pope Road, then turn right and travel ¼ mile to Poplar Springs Road.Turn right, and the launch site is approximately 1 mile on the left before you cross the bridge.

This launch site is located off of GA Highway 100 in Tallapoosa, GA. The average float time between GA Highway 100 and Broad Street is 2 to 3 hours.

This launch site is located off of Broad Street in Tallapoosa, GA. The average float time between Broad Street and Lazy River is approximately 3 hours. Check with Lazy River before docking.  A docking fee may apply.

From downtown, head north on Highway 100 approximately 1 mile.  Broad Street is on the left. Then travel 2 miles to the Tallapoosa River.  Plenty of parking available.
